Reber Ranch will provide microchips at no charge to the first 100 pets that come by their booth at Auburn’s Petpalooza on May 21st, 2016.

Kent, WA (PRWEB) May 06, 2016 — One third (33%) of family pets go missing every year, and if they do not have identification, they only have a 10% chance of returning home to their owner. While pet identification tags significantly increase the chances of pets reuniting with their owner, microchipping is the only real form of permanent, unique identification that cannot be falsified or removed.

Reber Ranch wants to help ensure that all pet owners and their pets will and can be reunited. That is why they will have a veterinarian on-site performing microchipping procedures at their booth during Petpalooza on May 21st.

In addition, Reber Ranch has partnered with the Valley Retired Police Dog Association and will be providing complimentary Data Mars microchips to the first 100 pets that stop by their booth at Petpalooza. In exchange for the free microchip, a suggested donation of $10 is requested and 100% of the donations collected will go to the Valley Retired Police Dog Association (VRPDA).

“We are excited to attend Petpalooza this year and be able to support two wonderful causes,” said Carrie Estrada, Marketing Manager for Reber Ranch. “With Reber Ranch providing 100 microchips to pets at no charge, we hope to ensure those pets and their owners are never without one another. We also hope that the donation in lieu of the microchip fee will help VRPDA ensure that our local police K-9s are supported and taken care of after all they have done to keep our communities safe during their demanding careers.”

FOR THOSE CONSIDERING MICROCHIPPING A PET: Dog and cat microchipping is a simple procedure. A veterinarian injects a microchip, about the size of a grain of rice (12mm), beneath the surface of the pet’s skin between the shoulder blades. The process takes only a few seconds, and the pet will not react any more than he or she would to a vaccination. No anesthetic is required. Microchipping costs $49.95.
